Plano,Texas | A Boudoir photoshoot was all she needed

Boudoir Photography Pose laying down in Plano, TX

Ever had thoughts like these run through your minds......

"I'm not pretty enough", "If only I was 5lbs lighter", "Wish my skin was pimple free", "If only I had those lips", "I hate my birthmark"...etc

Well, you are not alone! This is something that I personally have dealt with and is way too common in women one way or another. Research shows that women are very generous and forgiving when it comes to others but punishes oneself mercilessly when it comes to their own flaw, mistakes or inadequacy. Lucky for me with age, I have come to self-realization on being less hard on myself and focus on what's important in my life.

So then you ask, "How is a Boudoir photo shoot going to help me?" Not too long ago, I met this girl whom we will call A who was very self conscious of her birthmark that was on the right side of her body from her bra line to her high waist. You can't see it because it is always covered underneath clothing. There is so much to her that is so beautiful. Her personality, her beautiful face, long thick luscious hair, slim body...etc But all her life, she was crippled by it. She would not wear anything that might even show a smidgen of it. No bikinis, no tank tops or crop tops. Even though it is unseen, her knowing it is there, was enough to make herself feel less beautiful. And that affected her relationships. To me, all I could see is a beautiful girl hurting inside. Showing her how beautiful she is was all I could think of. When she agreed to be photographed by me, I was ecstatic to say the least.

All preparations were made and the day of the shoot arrived. She was nervous, which was to be expected, but was soon enjoying being made over by my team of stylists. When she turned around to see herself for the first time in the mirror, her expression was of pure joy. Her boudoir photo shoot went very well. We had a lot of fun doing different poses and trying on different lingeries from her wardrobe. But the best part was yet to come till the day of the reveal.

On the day of the reveal, I could tell she was more nervous than the day of her boudoir photo shoot. I sat her down and held her hand as we began to reveal her images from her shoot. The further along we got into her reveal session, the more tears were streaming down her face. I was told they were tears of JOY! She said she has never seen herself more beautiful in her life. I truly BELIEVE she has finally seen how others see her. At the end of her reveal session, I asked her if she saw her birthmark that she has been so critical of all these years and suddenly, a look of shock came across her face. "For the first time, I didn't even think of it!", was all she could mutter as she sob.

This is why I love what I do. For me, there is nothing better than to see the joy and love in others.
